First things first, open MS-DOS by clicking on the windows or start button, then type Command
prompt or cmd (windows 7 users). As for Xp users, click on start, click run and type CMD, and hit OK or
click on start, click on all programs, click on Accessories and then click command prompt..
Then, type in the Infected Drive such as for example: dir/p C:
after the C: Type in the end switch as s - h *. * /s /d and then simply press the ENTER key.
The command prompt will load all the files in your drive. If you see anything suspicious for example:
Autorun.inf or a .exe file. These files you need to watch out for. (see image)
look properly readers, do you see any ? Well i dont, but If you see any .exe and the autorun.inf then you have just found a tainted file, all you have to do id to write done the program name and where the program is located in your drive.
Then change the name Autorun.inf so you can open it without activating the virus and letting it infect
the system. Its best you rename it as a rar. extension so it can be placed in a folder. Now, Go to start,
and double click the My computer icon. Select the drive where you can locate this file that has been
infected. Find the program directory that contains autorun.inf
Right-click on the file you renamed "virusfile" and choose "Delete."
Right-click on the ".exe" file and choose "Delete." You have now removed the virus from your
computer's hard drive.
