After opening you notice the program comes with an already created document file. A letter header can  be for either a company or an individual, but the method of creating remains the same.. <br />What you quickly do is to create a new document, then set up your page in the way it will best suits you.<br />The below video will trill you on how to set up your page, You're free to watch<br /><br />When you are done with the setting up of your page and your paper size and all that, the next thing to do is to insert your company or individual logo to the header section of your letterhead. It is very essential that the header and the footer are edited so it can be possible for you (the user) to add text to the template... But how can this be done ? All you need do is to click on insert and then select header which automatically comes with its footer.... After inserting the header and footer which usually comes together, all you need do is to insert the logo as said before. You can do this by clicking on insert and then click on pictures, then select the drive you have the logo, open the drive and select the picture and lastly click OK.. it should talk some seconds before opening.<br />When the picture is first uploaded to the program, its size can only be increased or decreased, but with the help of text wrapping you will be able to move the picture from one direction to another..<br />(SEE HOW TO TEXTWRAPP A PICTURE  IN WORD)<br /><br />We have added the logo, it doesn't stop there, so lets proceed with adding the other components, It is expected that we select a desired font and also a good font size that will make the design look mature and then we then also have to add our Company's name, company's address, the services we render, a water mark if possible, our reference, the date and other information's related to the company...<br /><br />When  your done with the design simply save it as a "read-only" file, you can do this by right-clicking on the file (after it has been saved). Click on properties, you will then see check boxes which control the file's attributes among which One of the check boxes will be "read-only", simply tick this box and then click OK, this will stop the file being overwritten by an user, your not an exception unless you temper with the above setting. MICROSOFT WORD - ADJUSTING PAGE MARGINS

Including changing the dimensions of the top, left, bottom and right margins, as well as set the size and position of the gutter..<br /><br />Changing the size and position in Microsoft Word is very easy, you can either use the value adjuster, or by typing in the size of the margin required directly into the corresponding box. The gutter can be placed at the top of the document or the sides, The setting of the gutter margin allows your documents to be banded, by adding some extra space to the existing margin. <br />The gutter size is only adjustable if the Normal option is selected for Multiple Pages.. What you can do is to click on multiple pages and select a desired option..<br /><br />There are a few things to learn while we are talking about this margin, well am going to tell you some of them, they are listed below;<br /><br />1. Page Orientation<br />Around the Margins selection tab we can also find page orientation setting, which are the Portrait and Landscape,  The Portrait is most commonly used by computer operators for typing letters and documents and printing them as well, while the  Landscape orientation is commonly used for photographs, banners, flyers, books, booklets, large format tables and many other. A user can only select one at a time as both cannot be used.<br /><br />2. Normal Setting<br />The normal is a default setting in Microsoft Word, ans it is suitable for only regular single-sided documents which will not to be bound.<br /><br />3. Mirror margins<br />We also have Mirror margins, when a user clicks on this option , the page will be arranged with mirrored margins effect and this setting is one very useful setting, especially for documents facing each other. A point to note is this; when a user clicks on the mirror margins option, both sides of the margin sizes on the page setup becomes the inside and outside margin sizes.<br /><br />4. Multiple Page Settings<br />This option allows the user to select certain page/print setups, including Normal, Mirror pages, 2 pages per sheet and Book fold.<br /><br />For some reasons, users tends to select 2 column while creating a document, sometimes we call it 2 pages per sheet. Well this is not only a great way to save our paper, But it is somewhat helpful if the user in question is using an automated page numbering. This option will change the size of the margin labels in the page setup dialogue box. And so if a user chooses portrait as his/her orientation, both the top and button margin labels will become the outside and inside margin labels. While if a user select landscape as his/her orientation, this will change the left and right margin labels to outside and inside, now working opposite as the first instance.<br /><br />As for Book fold as mentioned before, i love this option so much, as it is a great tool for printing booklets, this will also produce a similar result while using the 2 columns per sheet option with a landscape orientation, the slight difference is that Ms Word will add a fold line to the printed document.</div>

To determine a hyperlink simply type an email address in word and give a space you will notice that text changing from its original colour (usually black) to blue.. I have wondered if changing this annoying blue colour can be possible, i wanna use my colour black as my hyperlink.. (the circled part of the image), under that menu we have style set, colour and font, select colour and click on a desired colour and your hyperlink colour is changed....<br /><br />In the case of the modifying aspect simply Highlight the hyperlink , click on Font , Under then click on Font Colour, choose the colour you would like to apply to it but if you prefer blue its not a sin to leave it the way it was. ADDING TEXT BOXES TO CHARTS

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">Charts as explained in my previous post is a pictorial or graphical representation of a given data, this applies to both word and excel and other programs that the term may be used.<br />When a chart is created from an Excel data, there is this tendency of some users wanting to add text boxes to the current chart, for some reasons best know to them, either for beautification, for adding comment/comments to a point on the graph, or for advertisments, sometimes text boxes are added for an information to be brought out. Whatever the case may be, whatever the reason for adding a text box to a chart maybe, adding a text box to a chart can be carried out in 2 ways, i wll mention them, so read on!!!!<br /><br />The first method is by making use of the Drawing toolbar. Making sure it is displayed is one thing, after that click the Text Box tool. Then the mouse pointer will change to cross hairs, then click and hold and drag to outline the text box you want created...<br /><br />The second way to create a text box is to use the Formula bar. Make sure you select any part of your chart except a title or data label. Click in the Formula bar and start typing your desired text to appear in the text box. Press Enter, the text you typed will be placed in a text box in the center of the chart. To apply this feature, simply click on BLANKPAGE and it will create a new page just under the present one.<br /><br />Page break: For some reasons or the other, we might decide to start another document from our present location in a particular page, hence we can use this feature simply by clicking on it and continue or document on that page.<br /><br />Picture: We can insert pictures for perfect understanding of what the document is talking about. Pictures really go a long way in explaining a topic, and it makes it very easy to understand, They say: Picture speaks louder than voice. Well, when a picture is inserted into the program, the size can either be reduced or expanded, but it cannot be moved to another position or a desired position. How can i move it?  It is possible to move a picture with the feature of "TEXTWRAPPING". This can be found in 3 places. Another thing to be noted is that textwrapping would only be found if you click on the picture or object you inserted. So, if you dont click on the picture inserted, you will see textwrapping but will not be able to use it.<br /><br />Clip art: Clip art is another form of pictures present in the computer, they are more like inbuilt since they cannot be deleted. They are also picture but cannot be compared to real photos. After clicking on CLIPART, a search box will appear, thats where the user can search for the item he/she needs. Not every picture can be found there, take note.<br /><br />shapes: This feature is used to add shapes to our document, it can be done by selecting a shape and click and holding it on the typing page... There are different aspects of shapes as seen in the image below, so you and i are free enough to use anyone.<br /><br />smartArt: A SmartArt graphic is a visual representation of your information and ideas. You are free to create a SmartArt graphic by choosing from among many different layouts/patterns we have there to quickly and easily communicate your message, doing so effectively.<br />Sometimes i create content that contains only text, even though the illustrations and graphics help myaudiences to understand and to recall information better than text.<br />Creating designer-quality illustrations can be ver difficult, especially if you are not a professional designer or no resources to hire one.. Well, you use previous (old) versions of Microsoft Office, spending lots of time anf effort making the same sizes of shapes and trying to align them properly to where theu fit, getting your doument to look the best way that it should and manually formatting the shapes so they can be just the same as the document's overall style, instead of laying down your effort on your content.<br />With the help of SmartArt graphics and other new features such as themes, creating designer and quality illustrations with only a few clicks with your computer mouse in possible due to the avaliability of recent or updated versions of microsoft word.<br />You can create a SmartArt graphic in Microsoft Office Excel 2007, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, Microsoft Office Word 2007, or in an e-mail message in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. All you have to do is to follow these steps:<br /><br />1. Position your cursor where you would like to insert the chart<br /><br />2. Open the Insert<br /><br />3. Click Chart in the Illustrations section<br /><br />4. Select the style of chart you would like to insert<br /><br />5. <div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><br />A table is nothing different from what we call a spread sheet in Microsoft excel, it consists of rows and columns in which data can be entered. Like i said in one of my previous posts, when a row cuts across a column a little rectangle is formed and that rectangle is what we refer to as a CELL. Comparing the table in word and excel can be said to be futile because excel was designed specifically that why, while word only has a feature like that. So how can i get a table in Microsoft word becomes the next question. In some cases we might be asked to design a table that probably has more or lesser than the default table, what can we do ?<br />If i am asked to create a table containing 4 columns and 4 rows, i will click on insert, then table and move my cursor to the forth column after which i take my hands downward to the forth row and then click on the last cell for the table to be drawn. This is where we find the options, either to add rows and columns to left or right. Although there are some fonts that looks alike while some are different. But all the same fonts are fonts, they add to the beautification of our documents. there are fonts specifically made for word processing, some are made for graphic designs, some are made for presentations and many more. All these adjustments are made possible because of the presence of; font size which enables us to change the size of a desired font (usually ends at 72), grow font and shrink font which function as font sizes (more than 72), clear formatting which helps to remove formatting from a selection and leave only the plain text, bold which enables the text to thick, italics makes the text to be slant, underline adds a line under the text (THE ARROW CLOSE TO IT INDICATES THERE ARE MORE OTHER UNDERLINES THERE), strike through which can be used to strike through the middle of a selected text and also used to produce a Naira sign, subscripts creates small texts below text base line, in mathematics we call it BASE, superscript used to create small text above text line, usually called RAISED TO POWER, we also have the change case which is used to change the font either to sentence case, toggle case, upper case, lower case etc. We have font color used to change the text color and we also have text highlight color used for making a text looks like i was marked by a pen. In the case of this find and replace, if for example i am typing a document and among the sentences that makes up the document is the word programme instead of program. The colomns is excel are represented with the aphabelts while the rows are represented with numbers. To see the last row and last column in excel, simply press the control key + Right direction, this will display the last column, then press control + button, this is display the last row in the excel worksheet. A spreadsheet consists of rows, columns and cells, like i said earlier the rows are represented by numbers while the columns by aphabelts. In this program we have billions of cells, but it might interest you to know that among all these available cells, a user can only make use of one at a time and this can only happen to active cells. So how can i make a cell active ? This is very easy, all you have to do is click on the cell. But how can i know this cell i clicked on is now active?<br />.<br />THICKNESS OF THE CELL: when a cell is clicked it becomes an active cell and its border thickness differs from every other cells in the worksheet.<br />Another way to know is that, there is always a thick dark spot at the button right of the clicked cell.<br /><br />There is also what we call the name box and the formular bar, this two features are really a great tool for excel users. Open is used for opening an old document, maybe for adjustments or probably to be printed out.<br /><br />Save is the process of giving a particular document a file name for identification (F12). When using this feature, the user must specify a drive where the document will be saved.<br /><br />Save As is used for continuous saving to a previous saved document ( CONTROL +S ).<br /><br />Print features is used for bringing the soft copy to hard copy with the aid of an installed printer in the computer.<br /><br />Prepare can be used to run compatibility check on documents as well as add encryption to a document.<br /><br />Publish can be used to send a particular document as a blog post (used by some bloggers).<br /><br />Send helps the user to transfer the document as a mail message or a mail attachment to other users as information's.<br /><br />Close is used for exiting the office button and takes you back to the environment<br /><br />TITLE BAR: the title bar is the first bar in the program MS WORD, it is situated at the top of the programs environment. When the program is opened at first, what you see in the tile bar is DOCUMENT 1, but after that document has been saved, the given file name will be what will appear there. I.E if i save a document with NELSON, when i open that document my tile bar will display NELSON instead of document  1. In other words, the title bar displays the name of every document in ms word.<br /><br /><br />MENU BAR: the menu bar displays features like, HOME, INSERT, PAGE LAYOUT, REFERENCE, MAILINGS, REVIEW, VIEW, FORMAT. We well be talking about each of them as time goes on. Each of the listed features has its own function, although some of them possesses each others features at some case, all of these will be highlighted.<br /><br />CONTEXTUAL BAR: this bar is sometimes called the property bar or command tab, the reason is because it carries all the properties of the active menu bar. When a user click on INSERT from the menu bar, the contextual bar displays the properties of that active menu bar.<br /><br />RULER BAR: the ruler bar shows the width and length of the working area of the page, it is also used for the setting of indents on the document.<br /><br />WORK SPACE:the work space is where the user uses for his/her typing, editing. it is that white big open space in Microsoft word, its main use is for the typing.<br /><br />SCROLL BUTTON: this button in Microsoft word is used to move to different directions in the working page, with the scroll button we can move up, down, left and right. In some other programs it has same features.<br /><br />STATUS BAR: the status bar displays the number of current pages and words the typist has used.<br /><br />LIKE AND SHARE</div>

It is called an application software because it is developed just to perform that function and to meet the standard of the users. Of course they are OK but the thing is the other new or should i say the latest versions are more equipped and easier to handle in order for the user to provide utility to the public.. After that, click on size and select A4 which is the normal typing paper size. Click on margins and select normal and lastly click on columns and select 1, but if you want more than one column you can select the desired number.
