How to use Automatic Updates in Windows 10

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on">
First of all go to the Start button (the one in the bottom left hand corner of the screen that looks like the Windows logo) and click on it.

Now select Settings from the menu directly above the Start button and in
 the window that appears you’ll need to find and click on Update & 
Security.

This opens up another window with a column on the left which has Windows
 Update at the top. Make sure this is highlighted in blue then look in 
the main panel on the right. Here you’ll see Windows Update at the top 
of the screen and beneath it that last time the system was updated. If 
you want to see if there are any new updates available then click the 
Check for Updates button.

At the bottom of the screen you’ll see Advanced options written in blue text. Click on this to open up the next window.

Here you’ll see the heading Choose how updates are installed, with a 
drop down box below that gives you the options of Automatic 
(Recommended) or Notify to schedule restart. If it isn’t already, select
 Automatic.

That’s it. Now Windows will periodically search for updates and then 
apply them as they arrive. To see which ones have been applied in the 
past just click on the View your update history option. 
 
If you’d prefer not to receive updates automatically then you can turn 
off the feature. We’ve prepared a short guide to this already, so check 
out our How to disable updates in Windows 10 for more details, but we think you should leave the updates on if you want to get the best from Windows.

With
 the Whatsapp status feature, you can upload pictures or short videos 
which will be visible to all your contacts or selected contacts 
(depending on your settings) for exactly 24 hours before it will be 
automatically deleted by WhatsApp. 
 
Although you can view any shared videos or pictures anytime you want for
 the next 24 hours, WhatsApp does not provide an option to download it 
to your phone. So what this mean is that you have to request for the 
media file from the original sender or download a modded version of 
Whatsapp like GB WhatsApp to be able to download the file. 
 
If you are using Stock WhatsApp and don't want to go about begging your 
friends to share you their status pictures or videos anytime they upload
 something you find interesting, there is actually a simple trick to 
save it on your phone permanently. 
 
How to Download and Save WhatsApp Status Pictures and Videos 
>> Browse through your WhatsApp status and view the picture or video you will like to save. 
>> Open your phone's file manager or any other third party file manager. 
>> Open the SD card or Internal storage (for phones running Android 6.0 and above). 
>> Open the Whatsapp folder, then media folder. 
>> Enable "show hidden folder" on your file manager. 
** For most phones click on the option (3 dots at the top or bottom of the screen), then click on “Show hidden files”. 
>> Once this has been done, a folder named “.Statuses” should appear. 
>> Open the folder and you will see all your already viewed status in the last 24hours. 
>> Copy the picture or video you want to save and paste it in another folder. 
>> The copied image or video will now appear in your phone's gallery permanently until you delete it yourself.

Beware! A New Malware called Dvmap is Attacking Android Smartphones

A new <a href="http://www.guruslodge.com/tags/Malware/">Malware</a> is out there again and this one targets the <a href="http://www.guruslodge.com/tags/Android/">Android</a>
 mobile platform in particular. Although this isn't the first malware to
 attack android devices but what makes this one more dangerous is the 
fact that it can by pass Google's malware bouncers on playstore.

According to Kaspersky, the malware which is called Dvmap has
 been on the playstore since April of this year 2017 and it has been 
able to hide from Google’s protection and verification mechanisms for 
this long by regularly swapping clean code with malicious code and vice 
versa. 
 
Once the malware is installed on your phone, the first thing it does is
 to try and gain root access by using four different methods. Once this 
is done and some malicious code are injected into your system library, 
the malware can install third party apps on your phone at any time. 
 
At the moment, only about 50,000 device have reportedly been infected 
and the number can be on the rise unless Google is able to quickly track
 down the malicious app. 
 
Google introduced some bouncers in form of bots on the playstore in 2012
 to help keep out malicious apps. Once any malicious app is detected, 
Google can take them down from the app store and remotely uninstall them
 from infected devices. But since this malware manipulates the system 
library, it will make it difficult for Google to do so as the author can
 decide to install a different version of the malware just to escape 
Google's protection mechanism. Infected devices might end up 
reinstalling their phones firmware entirely. 
 
Normally, I would have asked you to download your apps from trusted 
stores but since Google playstore which is arguably the most trusted 
android app store is not safe from this, then I will only ask you to 
watch out for the apps you download.
