How To Use Incense To Catch Nearby Pokemon In Pokemon

When you start playing Pokemon your in-game starter kit includes Poke balls and incense. The Poke Balls you already know what to do with but the incense is also incredibly useful. The incense attracts Pokemon to wherever you drop it. It can cause Pokemon to spawn where the incense has been dropped and it can also attract Pokemon that are nearby to the location. You can’t target what type of Pokemon is attracted to the incense because they do still spawn according to habitat. If you’re in range of a few Pokemon and unable to physically go and find them, a little incense can do wonders. Here’s how to use it.

To access you items inventory, tap the Poke Ball and select ‘Items’. The incense is at the very top. Tap it and you will switch back to the map screen with the incense floating on top.

Drag & drop it wherever you want. The incense has a range which is slightly larger than the player’s own range for capturing Pokemon. If you change your mind about using the incense, just tap the little cross at the bottom.

The incense lasts thirty minutes. Once dropped, a pink mist cloud appears inside the player’s range circle. The circle will be slightly larger than it normally is. When the incense is active, a timer appears just below the compass at the top right of the map.

Keep the game running and eventually a Pokemon will show up for you to catch.

The incense continues to work for thirty minutes and you can capture as many Pokemon that appear within range. The incense only serves to attract the Pokemon and doesn’t aid in capturing them.

You’ll quickly find that using the incense is incredibly tempting. The best time and place to use it of course is when there are lots of Pokemon nearby. Use the Nearby menu and the rustling grass on the map to see how close Pokemon are before you decide to use the incense. If there are no Pokemon nearby, you can still use incense and it will attract Pokemon. The spawn rate might be lower than it would have been if there were lots of Pokemon nearby. It’s also worth mentioning here that not all Pokemon that are nearby will show up. If there are lots of them nearby and one or two of them are rare, you shouldn’t expect the rare ones to spawn definitely. As we mentioned earlier, you cannot target a particular Pokemon.

You start out with just two incenses and they will go quickly while you try and get the hang of it. The question is, where to get more? You can get incense in two different ways; you can buy it using the in-game currency, or you can get it free from a Poke Stop.

In my personal experience with incense, I was able to catch four Pokemon in the span of thirty minutes. There were quite a few of them nearby and the incense did the trick. The incense works only for you i.e. other players cannot benefit from it nor will they know the area you’ve dropped incense on is a hotspot for Pokemon.

How To Walk In Pokemon Go And Find Poke Stops

Pokemon Go has arrived and it’s already interfering with productivity. The game is possibly the best AR game out there today and there are none like it which makes the game play slightly confusing. Mobile games are supposed to be simple and we can normally play them without having to do much other than tilt our screens or tap them. With Pokemon Go, things are quite different and many users are having trouble just learning to get around and finding Poke Stops. Here’s how to do both.

Once you’ve captured the one Pokemon during the game’s initiation stage, you’re character is left on a map where the game claims there are other Pokemon for you to catch. However, despite all your walking around, the character doesn’t move. This is because walking around your house or apartment isn’t going to be enough. You’re going to have to physically leave your house and walk or take a drive around your city to find other Pokemon. This is NOT a game you can play by just sitting on your couch.
Pokemon Go doesn’t use the accelerometer/gyroscope/whatever to move you around on the map. It uses your GPS coordinates so walking around your house does little to change them. Get up and go to the park, visit a friend, or get take out and make sure you stay alert. Your device vibrates when a Pokemon is in capture range.

The next question is how to find a Poke Stop. The games tells you to find them around statues or landmarks and you might wonder what qualifies as a landmark that’s worthy of being marked a Poke Stop. The answer is very little; a mall, a popular park in your area, a popular restaurant, and even a church might qualify as a Poke Stop. The game isn’t stingy with them and I was able to find four different Poke Stops by driving around a small section of an already small city. The Pokemon appear regularly enough although you’re far more likely to find them inside dense neighborhoods instead of on larger roadways.

Chrome OS and Linux Users Can Now Make Phone Calls From Skype for Web

It seems like Microsoft has finally chosen a more accommodating stance as the company seems to have allowed specifically Chrome OS and Linux users to make audio calls by using Skype for Web. However, the company has not made any official statement regarding this recent update. As to when an official statement will be made is unknown to us, but be sure to get an update from us ASAP.
A simple sign-in procedure now allows you to make voice calls through Skype for Web. Earlier, only instant messaging support was provided to Chrome OS users through Skype for Web.
Even though the audio calls can now be made via Chromebooks, video call support has not been provided to Skype for Web on Chrome OS as of now, according to a report by PC World.
It's worth pointing out that some Chromebook users have the option of using Skype's Android app, it will have very limited appeal as very few Chromebooks are getting support for Android apps and Play Store.
Last month, Android App and Google Play support came to Chrome OS-running Asus Chromebook Flip. Along with the Asus Chromebook Flip, Acer Chromebook R11 and Google Chromebook Pixel (2015 edition) are also expected to get the support for running Android apps.
In May, Chromebooks outsold Apple's Mac machines for the first time in the US, so they seem to be getting a lot of traction in the market. Skype's latest move will be music to Chrome OS users

How to access your Chrome apps without the apps launcher

In March, Google put an end to its attempted invasion of the Windows desktop by killing the Chrome Apps Launcher for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The company said at the time it would remove the launcher in July.

The app launcher was an icon on the Windows task bar that contained links to all your installed Chrome apps. The feature made it easier to get at your installed Chrome apps— say, Google Drive, Maps, or Gmail—without launching the full Chrome browser. Google said it decided to give up on the feature because most users prefer to launch Chrome apps from the browser anyway.
If you’re not clear on the difference, Chrome apps are not the same as browser extensions. Chrome apps are designed to function as stand-alone programs. They are built on the Chrome platform, but exist in their own window separate from the Chrome browser.
Now that July is here, it’s time to figure out how to maintain easy access to Chrome apps.
First, you want to make sure it’s easy to access your Chrome apps inside Chrome. By default, Google puts a shortcut called Apps in Chrome’s bookmarks bar. If you got rid of that bookmark because you were using the app launcher, it’s easy to get the shortcut back.
First, hover your mouse over your bookmarks bar and then right-click. Next, select the Show apps shortcut option from the context menu.
The Apps shortcut should now be on the far left of your bookmarks bar. Whenever you need an app just click that icon and Chrome will open a new tab at chrome://apps where all your Chrome apps are listed.

Chrome apps and the taskbar

Returning the apps shortcut makes it easy to access your Chrome apps in one place, but what about putting Chrome apps in the Windows taskbar? That’s still possible on an à la carte basis.
Let’s say you want to have Google Keep on your taskbar. Open a new tab in Chrome and navigate to chrome://apps or click the Apps shortcut. Next, right-click on Google Keep and select Create shortcuts... from the context menu. Now click Create in the pop-up window that appears.
You now have a Google Keep shortcut on the desktop, but we need to get it onto the taskbar by dragging it there with your mouse. Once that’s done, Google Keep will be accessible from the taskbar with no need to open Chrome first. If you want to keep your desktop tidy, just delete that shortcut—removing the shortcut from your desktop will not affect its usability on the taskbar.
Those are just two basic ways to get easy access to Chrome apps in a post-launcher world.
