Unlock any phone - U.S. House passes bill to allow mobile phone unlocking

Have you ever bought a cell phone on one carrier and then tried to use it with another carrier? Unfortunately, as you all would probably know, it doesn’t always work out the way you want with carrier restrictions, and others, plus we all know the drill. Oh, i could do it if i really want to, but then getting ready to “jailbreak” your phone has already been declared and noted as illegal at least in the United States as at May 2012 or so. Can we actually call it legal after buying the phone? After all, it’s my phone, its your phone, could be your mum's phone or even Dad's – it’s may not be the wireless carrier’s phone – so why shouldn’t i, why shouldn't you, why shouldn't we be able to unlock it to use with whatever network we want? Thankfully, im glad to let you know that there is a new bill ready to become law known as “Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act”, and im sure as hell that , me, you, we, us, we will all be able to legally unlock our phone soon and use it with whatever network we desire.....

As stated, this is a pretty big reversal of what was originally signed into law back in 2012 which made unlocking your phone a crime.

Set That Phone Free!

Well,i guess you and me were not the only people affected by this change back in 2012 guess it went far to as the SENATE level, So the new bill is really as a result of a lot of people who’ve participated in a lot of activism over the past couple of years, and has already went through the Congress and the Senate. And so, It appears all that’s left before it’ll become law is for President Obama to sign it, thereby completing its journey.

This is absolutely a welcome great change as sometimes people like me and you really desire to change our network and have until now been (legally) unable to do so. It’s a big enough problem changing wireless providers without having to worry about getting another phone, especially if you’re happy with one you already have.

Hmmmmm, your so gonna love this because the President of the United states has himself signed into law, (SEE FOR YOURSELF), a bill that allows all American's who desire to unlock their phone can do that with ease.... Which simply means that i, you and we can decide to choose our own carrier.
As many of us know, Unlocking  of phones was made illegal as at the first month of the year 2013, when an exemption to the DMCA expired. The bill CALLED the bi-partisan bill, was passed last week by the U.S. House of Representatives, after already being approved by the Senate for all US citizens who wish to can go ahead and unlock their phone. As it’s called, the Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act is only active until 2015, so we're hoping it is extended more than that as time goes on...

For now, it ensures that we all have a choice in matters of our mobile device, our carrier and all that as long as our phone is compatible with that particular carrier’s network you so desire and you’ve complied with your previous contract. And so, even if you don’t fancy yourself as technologically able to do this yourself, the bill permits or allows you to feel free and seek help from external bodies, maybe friend, relatives that are capable or equal to the task..

Hey my friend, whats holding you back ??? Go AHEAD AND UNLOCK THE DAMN PHONEEEE, FEEL FREE ABOUT IT....

Create, rename or remove a desktop shortcut in Windows

Desktop shortcuts are a very important feature in windows operating system, they can be almost anything including your favorite software, regularly-used documents, folders with music or photos, files and more. Sometimes we may create a shortcut for some of our favorite programs for us to have easy access, some other times while the installation process of a program goes on there is a Command prompt that asks for creating shortcuts in the desktop background... Whatever way the case may be, there are 2 simple ways to create a desktop shortcut, we are going to see how to.
As i have mentioned before, the desktop shortcuts can be just any file, any application or any folder on your PC. So, the steps for each will surely differ slightly but note that the main/basic procedures remains the same..

lets see how the first method looks like, Well the first thing to do is to locate the program by clicking on the start menu or windows button, all programs and then select the program, if the program is among your recently used program, then click on the microsoft windows button and locate the program there.. After locating the program, all you need to do is to click and hold and drag the program to your desktop and drop it there, while dragging the program you will see something below it like, Drag link to desktop, thats all shortcut created...
(see image)

The second way is quite easy, but it applies to folders and files, lets see how it goes
The first step is to locate the file/folder as usual, then Click on the file's icon and right click on it, next thing to do is to click on Create shortcut from the list of options displayed, then left-click on Desktop (Create Shortcut).

Either ways your shortcuts is sure to appear on your desktop background

One noteworthy thing about this topic is actually the difference between a shortcut and an actual file's icon, most times people tent to delete an actual file thinking its the shortcut, ofcource deleting a shortcut is no big deal but when a computer user tempers with just one of the files making up that program, i dont need to say the result, we all know its gonna be a problem to the user and to that particular system or application software as well.

Its no big deal if we have decided to change the name of a created icon, how may we do this?
Simply right-click on the created shortcut's icon, Click on rename, Give it a new name by typing and press the enter key, We could also click on the created shortcut's icon and then press F2, after which we type the new name.

We can delete a shortcut file by simply pressing the Delete key and accepting yes.

note: If you delete a shortcut or if you accidentally delete a file it will be moved to the recycle bin, from which you could restore it if required.

CUSTOMIZING HOME PAGE IN ALL BROWSERS

How to change the homepage in Firefox.
The webpage that the browser "Mozilla Firefox" loads when it is opened for the first time is called the homepage. A lot of internet users usually set their homepage sometimes to their email page, websites, search engines, blogs or some other pages they use on a regular interval, this is done to save a little time and depending on the homepage, it can also add to the beauty.. Well, besides morzilla, there are other browsers that also have this particular feature, browsers like google chrome, torch, internet explorer, Uc browser, Safari and many others. As for the torch browser, among every other browsers it has the most beautiful homepage design, as the bing search engine is used.

Here is a guide that will take you through the process in recent versions of Firefox.

Firsts things first, Open up Mozilla Firefox if you haven't already. In my case, my homepage is the Google search engine
(see image)

Click on TOOLS on the menu bar at the top of the Firefox screen, then click on OPTIONS. Next on the list, after clicking on the options button in the browser, you will see the Firefox Options dialogue box.

Now click on General, under general we have some options you may want to watch out for. Imediatlely under the GENERAL, you will see When firefox starts: we have 3 options there, they are;
1. Show my homepage
2. Show a blank page
3. Show my windows and tabs from last time

Selecting the first will prompt you to select a homepage, the second will just show a blank page while the last will show you previous websites that you have visited.
But if you more concerned about changing the homepage, all you need do is to type the URL address of the page you would like to use as your home page, for mine i used my website www.kokocomputers.com as my homepage.
(see image)

If the page you want to use as your homepage is the page your currently viewing, all you need do is to click the "Use Current Page" button, then click OK.

Note: Firefox only allows you to use one of your existing bookmarks as your new homepage.
